Advancing chemical synthesis for a carbon-neutral future.

We strive to tackle key scientific challenges in chemical synthesis and polymer recycling by developing innovative catalysts and catalytic processes. Our efforts are centered on designing efficient, sustainable, and scalable catalytic systems to drive advancements in chemical production and material recycling. Specifically, we focus on (a) harnessing renewable resources such as biomass methanol and CO₂ (C1) as alternatives to fossil fuel-derived chemicals; (b) minimizing resource waste and environmental pollution through the upcycling of waste plastics and polymers; and (c) creating high-performance catalysts and energy-efficient processes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by lowering energy and resource demands in chemical reactions. Through these initiatives, we aim to contribute meaningfully to global efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality.
